Ttwo years ago Jess and I went to Washington to visit his family. During that trip we went out to eat at Red Robin (Yum!) and to avoid a long wait time they sat us at a table in the bar area. When our waitress came around she asked for all of our I.D.’s because it was required to be 21 in order to even just sit in the bar area. I was 19 at the time and everyone else was over 21 so because of me being a baby we had to get up and wait  for a table big enough for our large group in the “kid friendly” section. How embarrassing! So I’ve been looking forward to this birthday so that I can march back into Red Robin and sit in the grown up section! Of course the first thing the hostess asked us was if we had our I.D.’s and I didn’t have mine…so back to the kiddie section for us, but I felt satisfied knowing that I COULD in fact sit at the bar if I wanted to. IMG_5611 Why yes, that is a giant jalapeno.

My birthday morning started with a breakfast fit for a pregnant queen. My cravings are hard to keep up with so Jess figured the best way to satisfy my prego palate was to get a variety of food and enough of it to feed an army. I enjoyed a sausage egg and cheese mcmuffin, bacon egg and cheese biscuit, mcgriddle, starbursts, a donut, airheads, a danish, two sausage breakfast burritos, and orange juice to top it all off. Don’t judge me, baby girl has quite the appetite. IMG_7120

Unfortunately Jesse had to head off to work and I to my morning classes. I had decided not to go to my classes and to go buy expensive things for myself instead, but about 10 minutes before class started I decided I better go. I’m glad I did because that was about the last human interaction I had for the day before I got to pick Jess up from work. I did get a lot of Boo interaction though…we cuddled a lot as we got caught up on Grey’s Anatomy. Before my bed could lure me in for a nap that would leave me groggy, I decided to go shopping after all. I stopped at Joann’s Fabric to buy adorable material for my burp cloth sewing project. I know, gettin’ a little crazy on my 21st at Joann’s Fabric!

5 o’ clock finally came around and I picked Jesse up from work since I was in the area. I gave him a hard time about his slippers and his shirt that he uses mostly for pajamas so we made a quick stop at TJ Max. I’m not kidding when I say quick, this picture proves that we didn’t even make time for a proper change in the dressing room. Let’s just say that baby girl was hungry again. Red Robin was well worth the tummy ache, but our plans to head to the movies had to be cancelled. Instead, we stayed in and watched The Croods because it was one of the few movies we haven’t seen on Netflix (so much for being an adult, huh?). IMG_4632

All in all my birthday was pretty laid back compared to others before, but I have the sweetest husband, a cute little growing girl, a cuddly puppy, and the best family and friends in the world. I couldn’t ask for anything better on my 21st birthday! I am so blessed. However, I may have to use Valentines Day as my excuse to get that expensive outfit I never found on my birthday 🙂 P.S. how cute are those baby clothes?? They are some of the many adorable outfits that my mom sent me as part of my birthday gift. Cannot wait to dress up this girl in too-big bows, fluffy tutu’s, and everything else girly.

Yours Sincerely,

A (finally) 21 year old.
